Penny
|
Penny found me
at the shelter in September of 2007.
I had just moved to the area and was
living on my own for the first time.
I had been thinking about getting a
pet to keep me company, but I had not
made any definite decisions. I went
to the shelter that day for a meeting
and to tour the facility. I had heard
about a litter of puppies that had recently
come in, but not yet found homes. When
we passed by the cage they were in,
my tour guide asked if I wanted to see
one. I immediately pointed out this
female puppy that was jumping around
all of the others. I picked her up and
she started licking my face, and then
fell asleep in my arms. That was it;
I was in love, and there was no way
that I could ever leave her at the shelter.
I adopted her that day and took her
home a few days later. She is now a
huge bundle of energy and I love coming
home to her enthusiastic greetings every
evening. She is the best running partner
I have ever had, and is becoming an
accomplished agility dog. I look forward
to many more active years with my crazy,
happy, excited Penny!
